Mark your calendar now for the CUCC Intergenerational Heifer International Event coming up this August.  Heifer International is a charity which works to end poverty and hunger around the world.  All ages will have fun together while we explore how we can participate in Heifer’s work.

August 1 and 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 we’ll meet at CUCC for dinner and fun as we learn about Heifer.  We’ll be focusing on how Heifer uses bees and chickens to help families in Nicaragua and other countries care for themselves and the earth.

August 15 we’ll continue our fun and learning at Marla Dorrell Park in Cary where we’ll picnic and play from 5:30-7:30.  The park is conveniently located just off US1 and has a misting garden and unique play structures for all ages and abilities.

Sunday, August 19 we’ll celebrate all we’ve learned at worship and Fellowship afterwards.

This event is sponsored by the Religious Education Ministry.  Questions?  Contact Suzette Roach at 919-637-4727 or suzette134@bellsouth.net.

Bring healthy snacks for Campo Mucho kids

CUCC's Community Outreach Ministry is working through the month of July to collect healthy snacks in support of Neighbor 2 Neighbor's, Campo Mucho.  This program provides outreach to many of our community's Latino children who come from primarily non-English speaking homes and who may be food insecure in their homes.

The camp will need 400 snacks total to provide their participants with 2 healthy snacks throughout their programming day.  If we can collect these snacks in time for their programming to begin on July 30, staff can use their limited funds to better provide more programming and 2 full meals during the days.

A donation tub will be in the Narthex each Sunday for collection.  The easiest way to collect snacks will be to buy boxes of individually packaged healthy snack options. For more information, please contact Laurel Powell at Laurel.powell@gmail.com.

Some ideas for snacks are:
Applesauce
Granola bars
Goldfish
Cheezits
Fig bars
Peanut butter or cheese crackers
