From the Pastor

"A Native American grandfather was speaking to his grandson about violence and cruelty in the world and how it comes about. He said it was as if two wolves were fighting in his heart. One wolf was vengeful and angry, and the other wolf was understanding and kind. The young man asked his grandfather which wolf would win the fight in his heart. And the grandfather answered, “The one that wins will be the one I choose to feed.” So this is our challenge, the challenge for our spiritual practice and the challenge for the world—how can we train right now, not later, in feeding the right wolf?" - Chodron, Pema (2010-09-14).       Friends, there are many demands on us as we move throughout our daily lives, but none higher than choosing a life of kindness.

Holy One, help us to "put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience." Amen.

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of
compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience; bearing with one another,
and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord
forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called
in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Creator. - Colossians 3:12-17
