From the Pastor

Dear CUCC Friends,

I hope you enjoyed the winter wonderland of storm Diego!

Sage and Quinn loved building snow boys and girls, a shark, an alligator and, of course,
snow angels! We are blessed with great health and abilities to enjoy the beauty of the snow, and are thinking about those for whom the winter weather may have brought hardship.

I am thankful for another Advent season at CUCC in which to share our lives together! This
weekend we celebrated with mulled cider and "fa-la-las" as many of you gathered in
our Fellowship Hall for the
annual Christmas Party!
Sage, Quinn, Cyrus and
Lola enjoyed decorating (and eating!) gingerbread cookies and making holiday crafts. Doug brought a festive flair to the carol sing while Susan and
Julie's Fellowship Committee once again wowed us with great food, decor and, thanks to Merrilee, the perfect balance of rum in the eggnog!

We are thankful to Śānti, Ellen, and our amazing youth team for providing a lovely Parents Time Out on Saturday morning as well!

Advent calendar updates:
·  Due to snow, the Retiree's Luncheon was rescheduled for Tuesday, Dec.18th
·  Sunday mornings, the adult series: "Practicing Contemplation in Advent" will continue
at 9:30am in the Bradow Room.
·  Youth will prepare a meal for the Wright Center this morning and serve tonight at
   6:30pm.

This Sunday morning, December 16, we gather to celebrate our anticipation of Christ's coming as children lead us in story and song in the Children's Christmas Pageant and will be blessed by the Chancel Choir's Rhapsody in Bluegrass Christmas Cantata. We are so thankful to share our gifts and hearts this morning!

Advent blessings,

Jenny Shultz-Thomas
