Śānti Matthews to preach this Sunday, June 9
We welcome Śānti to the pulpit this week.  We normally hear her in her role as our youth leader, so it is a treat for the rest of us to hear her.
This Sunday we also celebrate with our graduates; plan to speak with them during the party after worship. We celebrate the following graduates:
From College
Jeffrey Mohr (UNC-Greensboro)
Austin Osborne-Newman (UNC-Charlotte)

From High School
Susie Binganisi
Jackson Kiel
Carson Roach-Howell
Katie Srivastava

Caring Committee – The Caring Committee will meet Sunday, at Noon, in the Library.

Moral Monday Forum - An ad hoc group of CUCCers and friends have been participating in Moral Mondays.  If you are interested in or considering participating in Moral Monday (either as a witness or to go inside), come to an information session this Sunday morning at 9:15am -10:15am in the Vaughan Fellowship Hall.  People who have attended will be available to answer your questions and we'll plan carpools and meeting spots.  After all questions are answered, we'll continue discussing next steps after the legislative session ends.  These information sessions will occur each Sunday until Moral Mondays are concluded.

Life and Faith in Downtown Raleigh – June 11, 2013.  Anyone can come to this informal conversation group.  This month’s topic (thanks to Joy’s sermon) is “How is ‘faithing’ going in your life?”  Look for Etta Barksdale at our corner round table at Tyler’s Tap Room (18 Seaboard Avenue, Suite 150, Raleigh).  Come at 6:30pm if you want dinner, 7:00pm if only a beverage.

Fun at the Lion’s Park playground & cookout - The next Resources & Rituals for Teaching Faith at Home family potluck will be at the Pattison-McCallie home, 211 Dennis Avenue, Raleigh, on Sunday, June 23, 4:30-6:30pm.  We’ll cook out in the backyard, and then head to Lion’s Park to enjoy the playground.  Fawn & Grady are providing chicken & veggie burgers for the grill (you can bring a different protein if you prefer).  Bring a side dish to share.  Families with children 5th grade or younger are welcome to come.  Please RSVP to Fawn or Grady so they know how much chicken/veggie burger to prepare at 919-828-9595, fawnpea@gmail.com or grady@ncconservationnetwork.org.  If it rains, we'll hold the event at CUCC.

Living the Questions - Joy's living room on Wednesdays and CUCC on Sundays – Joy Alford and the Sunday Morning Bible Study are teaming up to offer the DVD discussion series, Living the Questions, at two different times and locations this summer. This will be a condensed summer version of a spiritual formation group loosely based upon an inter-denominational DVD study. It is used to bring together, equip, and re-educate thinking Christians.  This is a safe environment where people have permission to ask the tough questions they have always wanted to ask but have been afraid to voice for fear of being thought a heretic. Ideal for Christian invitation, initiation, and spiritual formation, Living the Questions will help us discover or re-discover the significance of Christianity in the 21st Century and what a meaningful faith can look like in today's world.  “Un-churched,” but seeking friends are welcome.
Venue 1:  Sunday Morning Bible Study begins June 16, 9:15am (no RSVP needed).
Venue 2:  Wednesdays, beginning June 12 in Joy Alford's living room (limited space; call Joy at 919-605-4336 or the church office.  Host living rooms may rotate if the group agrees (North Raleigh/Rolesville/Wake Forest).  Joy’s home is about 5 miles north of Raleigh-off 540 in Rolesville (on Hwy 401N). Carpooling from the church is an option.

Durham Bulls Baseball – For those of you who signed up for the Durham Bulls Baseball game on June 14, we will meet at the church at 5:45pm to carpool to the stadium.  The game begins at 7:05pm.  If you have any questions, please call the church office at 919-787-6422.
