Moral Monday request: Who is doing voter registration?

Following is a summary of the discussion at this week's CUCC Moral Mondays ad hoc group meeting (July 28)

Do this week
Please research groups which are coordinating  helping people register to  vote  and get a photo ID.  Bring details next Sunday OR email them to the group this week.

Thursday, Aug. 1:  “Voices of A People’s History of the United"
Keep your spirits up by watching this documentary.  Folks from CUCC will be meeting there; look for Joan McAllister.
7pm, Clara Barton room at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh (east of CUCC on Wade Avenue)
Description:  On Thursday, August 1, Documentary Night features "Voices of a Peoples History of the United States". Based upon a remarkable collection of documents from the rich tradition of struggle in the US, readings “Voices of A People’s History of the United" celebrates an alternative national identity, one of resistance to racism and slavery, of organization for women's rights, of struggle for union recognition, of opposition to war and militarism, of agitation for workplace and social democracy. Authors Howard Zinn and Anthony Arnove use selected testimonies of people throughout U.S. history who articulated a vision for a better world.

What: Mountain Moral Monday
When: Monday, August 5, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Pack Square Park, Asheville, NC
Who: Rev. Dr. William Barber, president of the NC NAACP and leader of the Moral Monday rallies in Raleigh
Why: Protest the draconian laws being passed by the NC State Legislature
