Walk in the Raleigh March for Science

Join members of CUCC's Justice in a Changing Climate Task Force as we walk in the Raleigh March for Science, Saturday, April 22.

Why are we walking?  CUCC has committed to addressing climate change in our own lives and especially as it will impact those with fewest resources.  We rely on peer-reviewed scientific research to know what to expect and which solutions are most effective.  We urge our legislators and executive branch to base their decisions on peer-reviewed science.

We want to be part of this celebration of science in order to support and thank the scientists on whose work we depend.

The logistics for the Raleigh March for Science are still being solidified.  Check this website for the most up-to-date information.  The march also has a Facebook page with information.

At this point, our plan is to meet at CUCC at 9:30AM to carpool to Shaw University in order to walk together in the march.  We'll decide when we get to Moore Square (the terminus) how long to stay, but I am happy to drive a car-full of people back to CUCC when the march-proper concludes if you don't want to stay for the science fair and rally.

If you want to drive separately, you can find our group by calling Jane's cell phone.  I will be carrying the vertical CUCC banner.  Contact me before the March and I will give you my phone number.

If you are busy in the morning, you might want to plan to come separately for the rally and science fair.

I suspect the whole day will be a great family experience, though you may want to focus on the part that would be most interesting to your child.
