Learn from different perspectives about regulation & the environment

Would you join members of CUCC's Justice in a Changing Climate Task Force at the Town Hall on NC's Environment and the Risks of Regulatory Reform?

This is an educational event, not designed to "preach to the choir" but to allow those of us who care for God's creation to learn from people with different points of view about regulation.  It is being cosponsored by Meredith College's Departments of Political Science and Environmental Sustainability, and by NC Representative Cynthia Ball.

Panelists:  Linda Culpepper, Director of the NC Division of Water Resources at DEQ, Preston Howard, President of NC's Manufacturers Alliance, and Cassie Gavin, Government Relations Director for NC's Sierra Club.  Dr. David McClennan, Professor of Political Science at Meredith, and Cynthia Ball, NC Representative for District 49, will co-host the panel.

When you enter the auditorium look for Gary and Jane Smith so CUCC's group can learn together.  Seating is first come, first serve - even if you have registered!

RSVP to BallLA@NCLeg.net, call 919-733-5860, or sign up online.

Description from the Town Hall flyer:  "At the same time that air and water pollution is increasing, decisions are being made by the leadership in the NCGA and the US government that eliminate environmental protections and cut funding for agencies whose job it is to oversee regulations.  how have these regulatory changes affected our state's ability to protect our natural resources, cope with increased hazardous weather events, and compete in clean energy and technology markets?  Are these changes necessary to keep our economy strong?"
