1 - Nonviolent Moral Fusion Direct Action Training Raleigh from John Parker <johndempseyparker@gmail.com>
Join the NC Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival for 40 days of moral action this spring to challenge systemic racism, poverty, the war economy and militarism, ecological devastation, and our nation's distorted moral narrative.

In the spirit and tradition of ordinary people of conscience engaging in nonviolent direct action to expose and engage in moral witness against injustice, we will conduct two training at 1- 5 pm on April 14  located in Charlotte or Raleigh for people interested in participating in nonviolent moral fusion direct action this spring.

Please join us for the second of the Divan Center talk series to Celebrate the International Women's Day on April 21st at 3pm. This is a women-to-women dialog activity for curious minds about the life of the Muslim woman.. 

The ladies of the Divan Center would like to reach out to the women of the Triangle region to to open their world to any curious person and welcome them with their questions. We are hoping to build bridges between different cultures and nations for a better understanding.

Panel discussion will take place on April 21st. The program will be held between 3:00-5:00 pm and refreshments will be served.

Featured speakers include Reverend Dr Jennifer Copeland, Executive Director of the North Carolina Council of Churches, Gene Nichol, and the Reverend T Anthony Spearman, President of North Carolina chapter of the NAACP and President of the North Carolina Council of Churches

4 - Gun violence prevention presentation from Ann Robertson <annrobertson1@gmail.com>
         North Carolinians Against Gun Violence
Did you know that:
  - In 2014, for every self-defense gun homicide in the U.S., there were 34 criminal gun homicides.
  - Only 4% of violence against others is caused by the symptoms of serious mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
  - Since 1968, 1,516,863 Americans have been killed by guns, which is more than the combined death toll for all American wars since the Revolutionary War.
  - The Black male gun-death rate for people ages 20-29 is about 89 per 100,000, quadruple the rate for white males.

We will be discussing these and other gun violence statistics, myths, NC legislation, and how you can get involved. We will also learn about the biblical call to care about gun violence.

5 - "Unto Every Person There is A Name" from Judye Jacobs <judyejacobs@gmail.com>
In solidarity with congregations around the world, Temple Beth Or will participate in the worldwide Holocaust Memorial Project "Unto Every Person There is A Name". 
Please join us in the Temple Beth Or Sanctuary on Sunday, April 22 as we read aloud the names of Holocaust Victims from 7:00AM to 7:00PM.  Stop by and help us bear witness to the memories of over 6 million innocent lives lost as we make sure we never forget.  You are welcome to come and witness for as brief or as long a period as you wish. 
A brief memorial service begins at 7:00PM.  Please plan on joining us - even if you read or bore witness earlier in the day.
