Rise for Climate, Jobs, and Justice

From CUCC's Justice in a Changing Climate Task Force: 

On September 8, in advance of the Global Climate Summit in San Francisco, thousands of Rise for Climate, Jobs, and Justice events will be held in cities and towns around the world to demand our local leaders commit to building a fossil free world that works for all of us.

Local action is leading the way — Be part of the movement that’s ending the era of fossil fuels and building 100% renewable energy for all.

For events in NC and around the world.  The Triangle, Asheville, Greensboro, Charlotte, and Wilmington are organizing events.

September 8, 12-7 pm Triangle Rise for Climate Solutions Bio-Bus Tour highlighting climate solutions from household to community levels from noon to 7 pm, beginning at the Durham Station Transportation Center 

September 10, 6-9 pm, Racial Equity and Environmental Justice Workshop, Standford L Warren Branch Library in Durham   We'll look at the United State's political history to understand how policy has shaped racial inequity then discuss how we, as environmentalists, can focus our work around environmental justice. 

September 12, 6:30-8:30 pm Rise for Solutions Forum, Church of the Nativity in Raleigh.  Local city and county leaders will be discussing renewable energy, environmental justice. clean energy jobs, putting an end to new fossil fuel infrastructure, and more.
