Getting to know other CUCC folks?  If you said “yes” to just one question, then consider joining the newly founded CUCC “Gardening Therapy Group” We’ll be meeting for “therapy” as we check on the flowers, listen to the birds, pull some weeds, prune some plants and, in general, spend a few productive hours working on the CUCC grounds. Money Talks: Our Money and Our Values

As a part of this ongoing discussion of our money and our values,  Bill Lamb will be hosting a discussion at noon on June 10th regarding Medicare and Social Security: Understanding What is at Stake. This will be an AARP branded listening session which is part of the "You've Earned a Say" campaign intended to educate the people about the facts surrounding Medicare and Social Security and engage the public in a dialogue about what should be done to address these programs in the future. Both Medicare and Social Security were on the table in the last deficit debate and will likely be again this fall. Don't let politicians decide the future of these programs without your voice. The issues involved with Medicare and Social Security are not just for older people. Anyone paying into these systems has a stake in what will be happening. That includes just about all Americans. This will be the first in a three part series which will play out over this next year. The first sessio

Remembering Our Mothers

Forum, MAY 13, 9:15am in Fellowship Hall The story of Mother’s Day is a long one. It is neither a recent phenomenon as many people believe nor the creation of card and gift marketers as assumed by others. Mother’s Day celebrations are first said to have taken place in the time of ancient Greeks and Romans hundreds of years ago. This Mother’s Day, you're invited to join us at Forum in celebration and in memory of our mothers. Plan to share a memory of your mother with a favorite poem, a photo, bible verse or just a fun remembrance. Young and old, you're invited to share your thoughts and to celebrate Mother's Day.
