THIS SUNDAY IS WELCOMING SUNDAY!!! COME JOIN THE CELEBRATION, FELLOWSHIP AND FUN!

Children and adults working on an activity at an outside table
We invite you to join us for an abbreviated worship service at 10:30am and to continue our Fall kick-off celebration in the courtyard following the service for food* and fellowship and fun.

Each year as the seasons change, we are invited into a rhythm which helps us set the pace for the upcoming foreseen period of time whereby we can orchestrate our lives in both the macro and micro; from planning school drop-off and pick-up to extended family vacations, to stopping by the grocery store or setting the table for house guests. We depend upon this rhythm as we do the sun to rise and set, the clock to tell time, the car or bus to start, the bell to ring. Just as the sun and moon have calculated patterns of movement that allow for a rare, but expected alignment, so do our lives. It is these convergent points which we depend upon within our communal life, these intersections, which help bring shape and meaning to daily life.

At Community UCC we have our own rituals and rites of passage that help us to celebrate our joys and sorrows, important milestones and stones otherwise left unturned, and look forward to welcoming you into this shared story and space.

People chatting at information tables outside in the CUCC courtyard

We are excited to invite you to join us for our back-to-church celebration, where we will share basic information about how to get involved at CUCC as well as spend time getting to know each other. Whether you are interested in spiritual formation, small groups, community service or justice work, teaching or nursery care, opportunities to provide food for fellowship, or provide compassionate care there are many avenues for involvement which reflect various levels of availability and interest.

Community UCC is a very warm and active intergenerational community whose commitment to the social gospel reflects an adherence to contemplative spirituality as well as works of radical justice—both locally and across the globe. Whoever you are, and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome at Community United Church of Christ. We look forward to sharing the journey with you this year at CUCC!

Spirit is leading the way,
Rev. Jenny Shultz-Thomas
