HKonJ

As some of you may already know the Annual Moral March and HK on J People's Assembly is coming up on  February 10  in Downtown Raleigh! Since 2007, when Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, II first organized the March, thousands of people have come together in support of the NAACP as they continue to work toward Racial, Economic, and Environmental Justice, Women's and LGBTQ rights, Immigrant Justice, access to health care, criminal justice reform, an end to Islamophobia, and many other endeavors. I hope you'll be able to come and show that Raleigh and North Carolina means business! In 2017 80,000 people showed up to March, we can beat that right? Gathering is set to begin at  8:30 a.m  at the corner of Wilmington and South Street near Shaw University.  A pre-March rally will be going on from 9-10 at which point the March will begin! CUCC members and family members are invited to meet at the McDonalds at  105 E. South Street  at  9:30 AM.  A perfect p...

Children’s Sunday School

The children have been very busy in February. This Sunday, the children will be serving fellowship along with Miss Susan (Maleszweski). Ms. Bailey must be away on February 18th. We need someone to work with her class that day. The children will be rehearsing with Anne Moorman-Smith to sing in church on February 25th during the first half of class. Please let her know if you can help. Thank you. The children voted on their charity for 2018. There were two charities that they wanted so badly! We figured a way to have them both. Our charity for the year will be a Nicaraguan orphanage (or school). We will seek help identifying who the recipient will be Nicaragua. The other choice that the children could not give up was Toys for Tots. We will incorporate this with the church wide advent celebration. Please put the important dates below on your calendar. February 18th  - Mrs. Bailey away, need volunteer for class, rehearse with Anne Moorman Smith February 25th  - Children ...

From the Pastor - A Heartfelt thanks from Rev. Joy Alford-Allridge

From the Pastor Dear CUCC Community & Friends,  Please receive this letter of heartfelt gratitude from the Rev. Joy Alford Allridge:  "My beloved Church Family:        Thank you for supporting me and for all your gifts to me. I am not only talking about your tangible material gifts but I am also talking about your sustaining love and support of me- just as I am.        Thank you for always being a safe place for me. I always know that as soon as I walk through those CUCC church doors, I will be greeted with various smiles, hugs, and handshakes. Thank you for always making me feel important and welcomed.  Thank you for allowing me to be myself and for encouraging me to go after the things that I have wanted but was intimidated by.   Thank you for all of the prayers that you have said for me during the years I have been with you -thank you, even for the prayers that I did not know about.  Thank you...
