If I had a hammer....

October 6, 10-10:20, starting in the narthex This week:  "If I had a hammer" - sponsored by the Property Ministry and hosted by Merrilee Jacobson. Join us each Sunday morning before worship for 20 minutes; we'll gather in the narthex and explore from there.  Get a coffee and donut and follow a pastor and/or lay leader as we pop up in a different spot around our church building. We’ll get to know various aspects of what makes CUCC CUCC. New friends and long time members will learn what’s going on with our ministries, committees, and task forces, share some history, and do a little visioning for the future. Show up a bit early, connect with your Community, learn and share!

New church dishwasher

Last year, the church’s commercial dishwasher was facing major repairs with no guarantee that the unit would work for any length of time. Due to the high cost of replacing the unit, a decision was made to install a residential dishwasher instead. Thanks to a generous donation from a CUCC family, the new dishwasher is in place and ready to use! The electrician who installed the outlet for the dishwasher also upgraded the outlets along the window wall to GFIs to make the kitchen even safer. If you have any questions about how to operate the dishwasher, please contact Welcoming & Fellowship chairperson Susan Atkinson (contact info in Breeze).

Sponsor a paver / pave a pathway

Over the past two years, the Memorial Meditation Garden team has been working to make this beautiful area even more visible and accessible.  To date, a new gutter has been installed, as well as an additional downspout and dry well system, to reduce the chance of erosion.  In the sanctuary, a new glass door replaced an old wooden one to visually tie the sanctuary to the garden. The last item on the team’s “to do” list is to install a paved walkway that will make the garden easier to access for people with different levels of mobility.  The cost for a walkway like the one pictured below is $7,500.  To raise those funds, the congregation is invited to donate one or more of the pavers at a cost of $100 each.  The pavers can be engraved with up to three lines of type – a way to remember a loved one, give thanks for a special occasion or memorialize a favorite Bible verse.  Smaller donations are also very welcome. Paver donation sheets will be available in ...
