A Message from the Stewardship Ministry
As we look around us, soaking up this glorious fall sunshine, we have much to be grateful for. Please reflect on this as you consider making a generous pledge to the church for our operating budget next year. The congregation is very active in many areas, spiritual, outreach, youth enrichment and beauty..........and all deserve support and leadership. You will be hearing from members of our congregation during the next 3 weeks, discussing why they pledge and why this is significant to the life of the church. The youth will join us in another great Poetry Slam/ Coffee House party on Saturday, November 15, to also help publicize our Stewardship efforts. Definitely save that date!!
Your contributions will determine the strength of our next budget. Please respond by mid-November...........either by mailing your pledge card to the office or placing it in the collection plate on Sunday. The 2015 budget will be presented at the last Congregational meeting on November 23. Please help make it a strong budget.
One last note...........if you would like to know the status of your current pledge contributions, please contact Carol Clark ( cdebclark@msn.com).

How Churches are Helping the Unemployed: Being unemployed and trying to find a job is challenging and stressful. The StepUp Ministry in Raleigh provides a structured program and resources to help people prepare for work and find a job. Laura Martin, Development Director of the StepUp Ministry, will share information about their ministry to help people minimize and resolve the many challenges they face in finding employment. They focus on job training and placement, life skills development and long-term stability. There are opportunities for volunteers to participate in this program.

Come Help PLM Families Together Grow!
PLM Families Together has received a free playground for the families they support! Now, all they need are people to help them install it! The group is asking for volunteers on any of the following three dates - October 27, 28, 29 - for various tasks from building, to signing people in, to helping with children's activities, medical volunteers, and food. Builders must be 14 years or older, but there will be activities available for younger children to participate in on October 29. PLM FT would love to have a strong CUCC presence helping out. If you are interested in learning more about this fun opportunity, please contact Laurel Powell at laurel.powell@gmail.com.
