Let's tell baptism stories. The Sunday after we meet is the festival of the baptism of Jesus. Here are some questions to get us started:
- What do you know about your baptism? Have you participated in someone else's baptism that caused you to understand your life in a new way?
- The UCC's Weekly Seeds for this week suggests reflecting on this text from Lao Tzu, 6th century B.C.E. "Nothing in the world is more flexible and yielding than water. Yet when it attacks the firm and the strong, none can withstand it, because they have no way to change it. So the flexible overcome the adamant, the yielding overcome the forceful. Everyone knows this, but no one can do it." What might this quotation say about your life?
