Dr. Ruether is an internationally acclaimed church historian, theologian, writer and teacher specializing in the area of women and religion. She is Professor emerita from both Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois, having served on the faculty of both Garrett and Northwestern University and the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA.
