Church-Wide Brunch and Sustainable Agriculture Presentation this Sunday, March 10, 2019

Church-Wide Brunch and Sustainable Agriculture Presentation this Sunday!
Baked local sweet and white potatoes with all the toppings!
Visit from Southern Wake County Farmer, Jenn Sanford Johnson
12:00-1:30PM, Fellowship Hall

All are invited to join us this Sunday for a potato bar brunch prepared and served by our Oaxaca Team. We will learn together about food justice and sustainable agriculture from local farmer, Jenn Sanford Johnson of Chickadee Farms. Prior to the creation of her own lovely farm, Jenn worked at the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and later managed the beautiful Irregardless community garden. Suggested donation of $10 per person. Nursery care provided.

If you missed the previous brunch, here is a review from youth member Gabby Bretz:

There was a lot going on in the church community on February 17, but one probably stood out: a gathering in the Fellowship Hall full of our church family. This event was to raise money and inform people about Oaxaca, Mexico, where a group of us will be traveling this summer. We served food from Mami Nora’s while learning from photojournalist Peter Eversoll. He was kind enough to visit CUCC and share photos he took here in the triangle and also while living for 7 years in Mexico. He showed us the sides of family, religion, and a little bit of fear that resides in our bordering neighbors. It gave us a look into America’s effect on Mexico, specifically the separation of families. I think this will definitely help us to prepare for our trip this summer and cannot wait for what is to come. If you missed this brunch, there will be two more, one on March 10 and one on May 19 after the church service.
