On 11/17/19, CUCC passed a resolution from Do Justice calling on the United Church of Christ to Advocate and Act to Change the Cash Bail Bond System to Eliminate Racial and Social Injustices Inherent in the Present System. We sent the resolution it to the Southern Conference of the UCC for approval.
Do Justice along with Burning Coal Theater and Carson Roach-Howell then produced this wonderful video to explain the problem and solutions.
On 10/17/20, the 55th gathering of the Southern Conference unanimously approved the resolution and voted to carry it onto the 33rd General Synod of the UCC next year. Amen, Amen, Amen!!
