One Great Hour of Sharing is a Christian effort to empower, provide water, supply food, and give relief from disasters. OGHS makes the love of Christ real for individuals and communities around the world who suffer the effects of disaster, conflict, or severe economic hardship, and for those who serve them through gifts of money and time. Today, OGHS supports projects in more than 100 countries, including the United States and Canada.
OGHS began in 1949 as an ecumenical effort. Throughout its lifetime, OGHS has had one purpose: to collect special gifts to assist those in need. This year, CUCC will participate in this offering on Easter Sunday. Look for special envelopes in the bulletin, and put OGHS on your check memo line. Also, all change collected on Easter Sunday will go to OGHS, so empty out your penny jars for a good cause!
