2 - Oak City Cares - Volunteer Needs! from Carolyn McClendon <CarolynJ.McClendon@raldioc.org>
Please find attached a Call for Volunteers for Oak City Cares - the community facility that opened last week to provide assistance and care to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.  A multitude of day time volunteer opportunities are available for anyone interested - from working registration to helping individuals with laundry to caring for children in the family recreation area .. and the list goes on and on ...to other tasks and relationship opportunities.
I volunteered last week and no two days were the same - yet both days offered opportunity for me to meet new friends, hear stories and be humbled by each and every encounter.
Feel free to share the Call to Volunteer to your friends, faith communities, and others you know;  join Laura and the OCC staff for one of the volunteer sessions scheduled over the next weeks. Dates and times are on the attachment.
Be assured, there is a place, a volunteer role, and a friend you need to meet and who needs to meet you at Oak City Cares!
