Join your fellow CUCC retirees on Tuesday, June 11 to catch up with old friends and make some new ones!
The morning will kick off at 10:30am when CUCC member Lena Gallitano will talk about "Sun, Sand, Surf and Beach-nesting Birds." Lena writes: "We enjoy the beach for leisure activities but the ocean is the grocery store and sand the nursery for beach-nesting birds. Least Terns fish and deliver food right to waiting mouths on the beach. Wilson's Plovers explore the tidal mudflats for worms with their chicks. These fascinating birds enrich our world and they can use our help to tell their story to North Carolina beachgoers."
A delicious lunch will follow at 11:15 a.m.
