1. Dinner and a show- Thursday, June 6 at 6pm for dinner and 8pm for the show. Come see our own Robert Parrish in Pippin at Raleigh Little Theatre. Buy your ticket today (about $25 each at raleighlittletheatre.org - have them held at will call). We’re meeting for dinner at CAVA at Cameron Village at 6pm and will head to RLT about 7:40.
2. Print and bring any churchy photos from the last couple of years for Jenny’s scrapbook. Just stick your addition into the pages in the book already in the fellowship hall and church mice will affix to a page. We’re staying true to our old-school vibe and giving her a real, live paper memento of our time together. Your words, cards, or pictures are very much welcomed and needed. To be presented at the potluck on her last Sunday, June 16.
3. Raffle for Oaxaca Team this Sunday (June 9)! This is the last push to help round the final fundraising curve. Bring a little cash Sunday and enter to win one of 7 prizes from the Oaxaca Team to YOU! Drawing June 9. See Kim Bowen during fellowship for your choice of really cool ways YOU can be part of the trip from the comfort of home or have a fun souvenir brought back just for you. And thank YOU!
4. Flower Power Shower - On June 8 from 9-noon (or any day before then), bring your temporarily potted blooms to the courtyard to dress up our outdoor space with a precipitation of periwinkle, a tsunami of celosia, or any bounty of blossoms you’d like to tuck into the pine straw. Our special June 9 and 16 Sundays will be so jubilant with this blast of blooms brought by all! (Drop them off straight from the store if you like. We’ll water them during the week. Take yours home June 16.)
5. Potluck June 16 after worship to celebrate Jenny and all the Shultz-Thomases on their last Sunday with us. Bring a side or dessert. Chicken and brats with fixins provided by the grill guys. Our own house bluegrass band will play as we frolic under the flags. (Maybe bring a camp chair?)
6. Wednesday Night Supper. Wait, is this a thing? On June 26 at 5:30pm it is! Come have dinner just to relax with friends in the fellowship hall, including kids. (Dare we put in a movie?) RSVP to this email (we prefer to have a ballpark count) or just come on if you’re in the neighborhood (we’d love to see you)!
7. P2E - Our annual watermelon seed spitting contest coming at you July 14 after worship. Bring your competitive spirit!
8. Let’s celebrate LOVE! July 28 we’ll have a fellowship time focused on love. This coincides with Bill and Marty Lamb's 50th wedding anniversary and will be a sweet romp for the whole church to enjoy after worship. Don’t miss this festive fellowship with extra special food and fun.
9. You can host fellowship this summer! July and Aug are very laid back and a great time to jump into the kitchen and be among the mix of hosts who extend our CUCC welcome to the fellowship hall after worship each Sunday. (Cheese and crackers are stocked in the kitchen. You may add a little fruit or cookies, hummus and veggies or just set the table, make coffee and clean up.) Here’s your chance! Dates available: 7/7 & 7/28, 8/4, 11, 18 & 25. Thanks for considering!
There’s a lot going on! Thanks for bringing your generous spirit to our radical welcome at CUCC!
Your Welcome & Fellowship Committee,
Susan Atkinson
