What is the Zoom Waiting Room?

Think of it as the narthex with the doors closed while the choir is practicing.

Roughly what you see
while in the Waiting Room
After you join a CUCC Zoom meeting (worship or any small group), you will find yourself in the Waiting Room. When the presenters are ready (the worship team, the meeting leader), the host of the meeting sees your name and admits you.

On Sundays you may find yourself waiting a bit after 10:30.  Clicking "Admit" for 50+ people can take a few minutes!  This Sunday we are going to try being ready to admit you at 10:25, so if you can arrive before that, you will help us get you seated more quickly.

Another way you can help us:  sign in with a name we will recognize, or email Jane this week to tell her the "name" you plan to use.  Those whose names we do not recognize will be admitted at the end of the line.  (We cannot see your video at this point.) If you suddenly see a message on your screen - perhaps "Who are you?" - text or email Jane to tell us you are waiting. Do invite friends and far-flung family to worship with you, but ask them for their sign in name and alert Jane in advance.  Yes, we have had visiting family already who did just this!

Finally, use your Waiting Room time to make sure you have everything you need to worship.  Print the Order of Worship (find the link on the homepage of our website).  Gather you candle and anything requested especially for that week's worship.  Take a photo of your worship space and email it to Jane.
