The most fun you can have supporting CUCC!
Join Chuck Porterhouse and Blip Scuppernong for another rockin’ show. On sale are events, services, adventures, hand-made items, plants, specialty foods, and more. While the adults are bidding, special programming is planned for children in another room.
When, where and what to bring - Saturday, May 4 (May the 4th be with you!), 6:30-9:30PM, Vaughan Fellowship Hall at C Bring your phone to help with checkout. Remember to bring cash, check or credit card.
Checking in - Be on time to check in. Buy your $5 bidding paddle; $10 additional to play heads or tails (optional). Give your email to help with check out.
Auction catalog (here) - The auction has three sections; the catalog has a tab for each part (Live, Silent, Cash 'n' Carry).
Silent Auction - Bidding begins at 6:30 and continues through the intermission. Browse the Silent Auction tables and record your bid on the bidding sheet next to the item. If someone outbids you, you have the option to write an increased bid. If you are bidding on an event open to more than one person, be sure to note how many places you are reserving (example: 2 people @$20 = $40)
Live Auction - Use your paddle to bid in this fast paced live event hosted by auctioneers Chuck Porterhouse and Blip Scuppernong. Expect the unexpected and lots of laughs.
Cash 'n' Carry - Wander down the hall to the Hoffmann Room where you will find tables filled with items that require no bidding. Pay for what you want and take it with you. A cash box is in the room and payment is by the honor system.
Checking out - When the night is over, use your phone to receive an email that lists silent and live auction items you have won and totals the amount you owe. Stop by the cashier's table to pay: cash, check or credit card accepted. Then take your items and head home to enjoy your success.
Proxy bidding - If you can't make it to the auction, you can ask someone who is going to serve as your proxy. Fill out this proxy form and give it to your designated bidder.
Refreshments - Throughout the night, stop by the snack table (free) and, if you are so inclined, the beverage table (donation requested for drinks).
The CUCC Better than Average Auction funds the ministries of CUCC. Not only are there wonderful items on sale; your purchases support the work we do together.
A big thank you to the Stewardship Ministry for the hours of work spent preparing for the auction, to the snack crew for the treats, and to all of the donors who make this event such a success.
