Oak City Cares is Wake County’s new coordinated entry facility for people experiencing homelessness. Volunteers are needed to provide a welcome and a cup of coffee or tea to those who drop by. If you're interested in touring the center and learning more about volunteer opportunities, please click here. Families are welcome to help out over the weekend, when the Center provides meals.
In addition, the Center is looking for donations of the items listed below. You can drop the items off at the Center (1430 South Wilmington Street) or contact Merrilee Jacobson at 919-274-4539 to arrange a hand-off at church. If you’re interested in running a collection drive at work or an organization like the Rotary, Boy/Girl Scouts, etc., Merrilee will be glad to arrange a pick-up. Thanks for helping our neighbors in need!
