Śānti Matthews, our youth and adult education coordinator, has received a positive report from her doctor. Her retinas have attached and are scarring into place exactly as the doctor had hoped. Śānti has three more days of 22-hour/day reclining to do, and then can begin to resume normal activities. The family vacation long-planned for next week (July 7-14) will proceed as planned, allowing her the extra time she needs to regain her strength and the scarring to be completed.
Śānti asked me to tell the congregation how deeply she has felt surrounded with care by CUCC. She appreciates the cards, prayers and other acts of kindness offered by the congregation. She looks forward to resuming work gradually after her vacation, and working with the Oaxaca team to prepare to lead worship on July 21.
If you have questions, please contact Jane Smith who is serving as Śānti's contact while she is on medical leave.
