Join Jim Smith at the movie The Long Shadow this Sunday evening, Aug. 11. The film is being sponsored by the Orange County Remembrance Project; our own Jim Smith and Robert Parrish are members of the Wake County Remembrance Project.
In an astonishingly candid look at the United States' original sin, The Long Shadow traces slavery's history from America's founding up through its insidious ties to racism today. This film will be shown 4 PM, Sunday, August 11 at the Varsity Theater, 120 East Franklin Street, Chapel Hill, NC with a panel discussion with UNC Law Professor Erika Wilson and UNC History Professors William Sturkey and Seth Kotch following.
Jim has room in his car for some carpoolers. Contact him to reserve a space in his car which is leaving the CUCC parking lot at 3PM. (His contact info is in Breeze.)
