We had a great discussion in October about what prevents us from asking for help. Toward the end of our conversation a new set of questions arose.
Do you ask God for help? Is it okay to ask God for help? Is it okay to ask God for some kinds of help, but not for others? How do you ask God for help? When you ask, what kind of answers do you get? How do you know that you’ve gotten help? How do you know anyone is listening?
These are precisely Advent questions and we’ll tell stories and imagine through them in December.
About Life and Faith
This ever-changing group of CUCCers and friends gathers to bounce ideas, support and challenge each other, and enjoy good company. Questions for discussion arise from the group as each of us tries to figure out how to put into practice what we believe. Discussion often touches on how to love in specific circumstances, and how to be a presence of justice. We talk about family, work, community. We don’t always agree; we do laugh together. If no one has a question that night, Jane Smith brings a proposed question to start the discussion (see above forDecember's proposed question).
New folks and friends are always welcome. Come when you can, or come often. For now we are meeting on Zoom, but eventually we will return to a local pub for our gatherings.
What is said at Life & Faith stays at Life & Faith! We seek to be a safe place for one another.
For the Zoom information, check your Saturday worship email or contact convener Jane Smith smithjeg@mindspring.com. You are welcome to eat dinner while we eat, or to enjoy a refreshing libation.
